Florida DSO, Operation Dental, Launches New Leadership Podcast

Operation Dental, an award-winning dental services organization, will debut its leadership and business management podcast, "The Driven Dental Podcast,” on Tuesday, September 24.
Developing their digital presence has been a key focus in recent years, as part of a larger outreach to partner with dental professionals looking for employment with a progressive DSO. Bridging the gap between the autonomy of private practice and the support of a large DSO, Operation Dental leads with a ‘People before Profits’ ethos, maintaining that when they prioritize people, the business will grow.
This podcast was born from the vision of Chief Operating Officer, Matt Robinson, when he saw an opportunity for a beneficial content platform that explores themes he outlines in his book, The Driven Dental Practice.
“We want to create a community where dentists and all dental professionals come first. We are sharing experiences and diving into what we’ve learned with some of the best dental professionals around” Matt explains.
Matt's book, the foundation of the new podcast, has been praised as a practice management blueprint with its methodologies for leadership, communication, and industry best practices.
“We lived the stories that we share. We failed, and we won. We never strayed from our vision, however. We learned from our mistakes and want to share our wisdom with other dental professionals so that we can elevate dental practices together. I think those who tune in will find that they feel equipped to grow,” he shares.
Our first episode will feature Operation Dental co-founder and CEO, Dr. Peter Kelly. Matt and Dr. Kelly will discuss scaling the company from a humble $750,000 single practice to a 17-practice $40 million organization. Dr. Kelly’s vision for the company formed when he saw a need to blend aspects of private practice and large DSOs after owning his own practice and working for a large organization as an associate dentist. This podcast will cover those beginnings and outline the business practices that contributed to their rate of growth.
The podcast will also feature niche experts like Chief Marketing Officer, Dave Womble. Dave says, “The goal here is to bring various perspectives to the table, to explore those stories, and come to a conclusion about the best way forward. It’s about growing our understanding by hearing from some of the best, applying the principles that have worked, and recalibrating the ones that didn’t.”
